Family and Ministry
Pastor Sidney Capillas has been preaching the Word for over half his life, serving in various capacities as a pastor and church planting missionary. In response to the call to plant a new church in the city of Milpitas, he is presently serving as our Pastor and Lead Church Planter. He completed his graduate studies with Liberty University School of Divinity and currently doing his Doctoral studies at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. His prayer and goal is to bring glory to God in bringing worshippers to Him by obeying the Lord in reaching the lost and in discipling believers through the faithful teaching and preaching of the Word of God.
I was born to a Christian mother. If ever there were a black sheep in the family, that sheep was me–that is, until the Good Shepherd found me.
I was a young man when a friend laid helpless in my arms, bleeding, that I began to think seriously about life and death. The answers came from the Word of God, and my mother’s local pastor became God’s instrument to share with me the Good News. God saved me through Christ! He set me free! Over time, by the grace of God, the vices which had been eating away my very life became history. Christ became my Savior and my Lord.
Years passed. Subsequently, the Lord moved me from one country to another. He has blessed me not only with a godly wife but also with the precious gift of being a father!
I invite you to come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. In Him alone is the forgiveness of sins and eternal life, for we all have sinned, having been born of the first man, Adam, through whom “sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned” (Rom. 5:12closeRomans 5:12 12 Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned. . . . (ESV) ). But “God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son” (John 3:16closeJohn 3:16 16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (ESV) ); “while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Rom. 5:12closeRomans 5:12 12 Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned. . . . (ESV) ). Jesus Christ died in our place, completely paying for the penalty of our sin, was buried and rose again the third day (1 Cor. 15:3-4close1 Corinthians 15:3-4 3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. . . . (ESV) ). “For as by one man’s disobedience [Adam’s] many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience [Jesus Christ’s] many will be made righteous (Rom. 5:19closeRomans 5:19 19 For as by the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man's obedience the many will be made righteous. (ESV) ). Jesus Christ “was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God (John 1:10-13closeJohn 1:10-13 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. 11 He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. 12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. (ESV) ).
Why not receive Christ today? Accept the fact that you are a sinner, repent of your sins and believe in the finished work of Jesus Christ. The Holy Bible, God’s Word, clearly states, “[I]f you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved (Rom. 10:9-13closeRomans 10:9-13 9 Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. 11 For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. 13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (ESV) ).
If you have now just become a believer, be sure to join yourself to a Bible-believing church. You are most certainly welcome and we gratefully invite you to come and fellowship with us in the study of God’s Word for spiritual growth!
Mrs. Anna Capillas – Family, Ministry and Testimony
Anna Capillas was introduced to the Gospel Story on a camping trip. As a young lady, she was saved by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Since then, she has joined herself to a local church, serving in the ministry of teaching and music. Desiring to grow deeper in her faith, she attended and completed her pre-law studies at Bob Jones University, South Carolina. After being granted her license as a California attorney, she pursued Missions Training with New Tribes Missions in Oregon and Missouri. Some years later, she married Sidney Capillas and her prayer from her teenage years- that the Lord would use her as a missionary or a pastor’s wife – was answered! Though she has always imagined being sent to a distant land, the Lord has called her to serve right at home in Silicon Valley, a place to which the nations have come. Indeed, the Lord is Sovereign. His ways are always best.
